Meet the real Tosca and the 'forum' Tosca...

Tosca is  an Australian Silkie Terrier now 6 years old, and has long since entered her rebellious teenage years.  She originally came from Finland  and a long line of champions (yawn!).  Good that we never wanted to show her or cared much about pristine appearances because she is into everything and is the EWS (Early Warning System) of the area.  Even though the mailman laughs at her, she takes her job seriously!

What she misses, my mother's dog across the street, Rosena (a pretty Spanish street champion akn. 'mut') will alarm about.

Tosca and Tosca

The 'other Tosca' decided to borrow her name rather than be Patricia5 or some other number at forums, practical, no?

Her pedigree is further down the page.

Besides this, Tosca is a favourite opera of hers and there is also a very nice perfume of this name...and the Toscana in Italy is wonderful!

She was brought to Spain with the breeder who we met at the airport, barely 9 weeks old.  (My first Silkie and dearest friend passed away at the age of 18, thankfully quickly and peacefully.  He was Caruso, akn. Russo, so named because Pavarotti was too long, and yes he did sing as well.)  We so looked forward to her and though we were sure this was a Tasmanian devil because of her sounds or a Rotweiler perhaps by looks, she was so ugly that she was rather cute afterall.

Out of an 'ugly duckling' grew a swan of a Silkie - at least for  short while just after a bath and brushing.

The breeder kept telling us she will be silver and gold one day (blonde and pale grey) and assured us that even though she was the last of the liter, it was because the males were sold first and she kept one female.

Oh, actually we didn't care...it was love at first sight.

Tosca - hard at play or seriously guarding...
"Did you REALLY say 'Wo ist die Katz-Katz?"

(Where's the cat-cat in German.)

A typically slightly grave, concerned expression,  especially about cats.

"By God, she DID then!  I'm off! "

Where's that cat?"

By the way, Tosca understands Spanenliger -Spanish, English and German - it is all the same to her except when the Terror Terrier in her doesn't want to understand, sigh.

Here is a view from one of the windows of the restaurant (next pictures down).  It was a slightly overcast day, but still the coast is a lovely sight.

(Alcocebre on the Mediterranean Sea)

Here we are at the El Pinar Restaurant that is located on top of a small mountain (foothill) which is part of the Irta mountain range.  It is a short winding drive of 10 minutes from the villa.

My husband Reggie and I at the end of April, 2001.  We met in Alcocebre 5 years ago and married 3 years ago.

Taken a few years ago (3 May, 2001), Mama, my father and Reggie.  (German mother, Spanish father, English husband, Finnish dog...)

Here a photo taken last year in Granada with the Alhambra behind us.  I took my two cousins (16 and 13) on a cultural tour to Andalucia.  I understand they actually enjoyed it and retained much...well you know, there ARE friends to impress!
